Representatives from Etihad Airways visited SMATSA Aviation Academy (SAA) in Vršac to familiarize themselves with the Academy’s capabilities and to discuss potential opportunities for training Etihad’s cadet pilots.

SAA is one of Europe’s largest and most experienced pilot training centers, with more than 2100 pilots trained since 1954.

During the visit, Etihad representatives were introduced to SAA’s fleet composed of 20 airplanes – 8 Cessna 172S equipped with Garmin 1000, 10 Cessna 172N and 2 Cessna 310 – as well as Academy’s Alsim Alx FNPT II simulator.

Visit also included a tour of SMATSA’s state of the art Air Traffic Control Center located at the Belgrade International Airport, where Etihad representatives had a chance to learn more about SMATSA’s capabilities.

Etihad and SMATSA will hold additional meetings to further explore potential synergies and representatives from both companies were pleased with the discussions held in Vršac and Belgrade.
