Mr Slobodan Cvijan, Acting Director of Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services SMATSA llc, and Mr Damir Hadžić, Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, awarded certificates and licences with radar endorsements to 18 en-route air traffic control officers in Sarajevo, who had been trained in the ATCO Training Centre in Belgrade within the BiH Air Traffic Management Project. To date a total of 35 candidates from Bosnia and Herzegovina have completed their training in the SMATSA ATCC Training Centre, which has made them fully competent for taking up the duties and tasks of the air traffic control officer in BiH. Ten more candidates from BiH are at present being trained in the Beograd Air Traffic Control Centre. Apart from ATCO training, SMATSA llc has provided the following services to the BiH candidates: ATCO Supervisor training, ATCO Instructor Examiner training, ATCO Instructor Assessor training, ATCO Instructor emergency training, as well as English language courses and Meteorological Forecaster training. On certificate awarding, Mr Slobodan Cvijan, SMATSA llc Acting Director, said that Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services SMATSA llc shall continue to provide assistance to the colleagues from BiH in the airspace organisation, establishing of operational procedures and safety assessments as well as in testing and integration of technological systems.

The certificate and licence award ceremony was held in Sarajevo, in the presence of Mr Slobodan Cvijan, SMATSA llc Acting Director, together with his associates, and Mr Milan Živanović, Acting Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Enver Bijedić, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Federation BiH, Mr Marin Raspudić, Acting Director of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency, with his deputies, and Mr Damir Hadžić, Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH.

In the forthcoming period, SMATSA llc shall make every effort to contribute to the establishment and implementation of the ATM system in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the shortest possible time by ensuring commitment of its experts and ATCO Instructors.
