SMATSA LLC football team ranked sixth in Europe!

 

At the football competition of European air traffic controllers (ECC) in Ostend (Belgium), Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services (SMATSA LLC) football team has been ranked sixth.

The competition has included more than 50 ATC teams and has lasted for 7 days. Up to three football matches have been played every day. The football achievement of our air traffic controllers has been the most remarkable this year considering the fact that this competition has been taking place since 1968. The results of our team at this ECC are as follows:

MUNICH – BELGRADE 0:2

BELGRADE – BUDAPEST 2:0

BRUSSELS – BELGRADE 0:3

AIX EN PROVENCE – BELGRADE 1:0

BELGRADE – PADUA 1:0

 

SMATSA LLC football players have been the first in their group in the main competition.

 

1/8 finals BELGRADE – AUSTRIA 3:0

1/4 finals KIEV – BELGRADE 0:0 (penalties 5:4)

 

And in the matches for the fifth to the eighth place standings:

IRELAND – BELGRADE 0:0 (penalties 3:4).

 

Air Traffic Control Officers from all European countries take part in this football tournament, thereby representing their companies. The tournament has been held once a year since 1968 when Hannover hosted the footballers and since then a new host is being chosen each year. The teams are playing according to the standard football rules during the course of 7 days. Barcelona will be the host the following year.
