Three new Cessna 172 S delighted thousands of attendees when the formation overflew the Danube.

SMATSA Aviation Academy aircraft took part at the air show, “Novi Sad 2013 ” on Saturday and Sunday, as a part of a review of the program, the formation  overflew  the Danube, the part between the Varadin and Sloboda Bridge. The pilots were: the flight instructors Dejan Brankov, Marko Markovic, and Ivan Edelinski. In this way the three new Cessna 172 S were part of the spectacle, which consisted of flyers from Serbia and several European countries. In the competition part of the programme, the pilots had task to quickly and safely fly between the mounting gates which were 18 meters high and the distance between them was 30 meters. The pilots, who overcame these obstacles in the shortest possible time, were awarded trophies and plaques by the mayor of Novi Sad, Mr. Miloš Vučevic. “We have accepted to be the co-organizers of this event, primarily with financial support through the City Administration for Youth and Sports, as well as organizational support to such an event. This is something I have not seen in Novi Sad , and judging by the response of people who enjoyed observing this kind of spectacle in the sky  ,the Airshow  should  become a regular event, ” – said  mayor Vučevic .

Citizens who attended this extraordinary event in large numbers, watched the acrobatics from the bank of the Danube near the” Porodica” monument, as well as from the fortress of Petrovaradin. The director of the air show Dragan Amidžić thanked the City for its support, as well as pilots from the Army of Serbia, SMATSA Aviation Academy and colleagues from England, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Montenegro.
